Over four engaging sessions (Feb 25 – June 9, 2025), I collaborated with Park Lane Public School and Allenby Junior Public School, schools in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) to develop a dynamic program for passionate students eager to explore digital art. From coding interactive projects with MIT’s Scratch to composing music with ___________, students had the opportunity to experiment, create, and bring their artistic visions to life across a variety of digital mediums.
Students gained valuable experience in programming simple video games using MIT's Scratch platform. As part of the project, they developed a fun game where the goal was to feed a digital pet bat. This game drew inspiration from the beloved pet and cozy game genre that became popular in the 2010s.
Students explored the fascinating world of mandalas, delving into their history and examining their presence in both our culture and nature.
They had the opportunity to create their own mandalas using 2dio Studio’s project, Drawerings.com.
With this web app, students created and animated stunning digital mandalas, showcasing their creativity and understanding of this ancient art form.
